Update, Sunday, March 22, 2020
Today, Louisiana Gov. John Bel Edwards issued a statewide Stay at Home order, https://gov.louisiana.gov/assets/Proclamations/2020/JBE-33-2020.pdf, that goes into effect at 5 p.m. Monday,? March 23, to further fight the spread of COVID-19 in Louisiana, as the number of confirmed cases has exceeded 800 and reached more than half of Louisiana’s parishes.
As planned, all faculty and staff, except essential personnel, will begin teleworking tomorrow, Monday, March 23.? Our goal, like the governor’s, is to limit the number of people on campus to help control the spread of coronavirus.? Each vice president has identified essential personnel in their respective areas and will be notifying you if you fall into that category.
It is permissible for non-essential personnel to come to campus to retrieve work materials if necessary.? We ask that you limit your time in your office and maintain social distancing and only be on campus when necessary.? Also, supervisors will be in contact with you should it become necessary for others to be on campus during this new phase of the state’s response to coronavirus.
Below is a message from University of Louisiana System President Dr. Jim Henderson to all ULS faculty and staff.? I want to thank Dr. Henderson for his leadership and communication to me and our system administrators during this difficult time.
